Put the mirror down. You are enough.

Roll out of bed. Look in the mirror. Get dressed. Look in the mirror. Do your hair and makeup. Stand up. Look in the mirror. Bush teeth. Look in the mirror. Get your book bag. Look at reflection. And so on. Our days are constantly revolving on us looking at ourselves, inspecting ourselves, and making sure we look "okay". We have become so obsessed with this idea of "perfection" that society as drilled into our brains. As humans, we want to be enough. Enough for that special someone, enough for those people at work, enough for the people at the party. We think that to be "enough" that we have to be "beautiful", no not beautiful inside, but beautiful outside. So, naturally, we spend 45 minutes doing our hair and 30 minutes perfecting those cat eyes. But, what if I told you that you are enough? Without all the makeup, and the hairspray. You might roll your eyes and mutter a "yeah right", but it doesn't change a thing I just said. Now, what if The Creator of the UNIVERSE thought that you were enough? What if He thought that you were absolutely beautiful in every way there is to be beautiful? It's amazing to think about! Take a moment and look outside. Those stars, those trees, those mountains, those birds and everything in between was created by OUR GOD! Yet, in all that beauty that we are surrounded with everyday, God loves US! "For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will—  to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves" Ephesians 1:4-6. If that isn't a relieving moment of joy, then I don't know what is. You see, God didn't need us, He WANTED us. Just think about how enough you are for Our God to want you, even when He doesn't need anything. So next time you look in the mirror, remember that you are loved.
