The Beautiful Truth

Does my makeup look okay? Does my outfit fit correctly? How will THEY see me? So many questions run through our heads every time we look at the $9.99 face staring back at us. Yet, in all this chaos of trying to look the part we forget who WE are. We are constantly battling with the idea of what "label" we are; "hipster", "scene", "emo", "preppy", and the list goes on and on. It seems as though we can never just be ourselves, therefore, we are supposed to fit into a "group". We can't like flowers and tea without being a "hipster", and we can't wear black clothes and a fallout boy bracelet without being "scene". That is where the battle within ourselves begins. In the same swift motion that society sticks a "Hello, my label is ____" sicker on our chests we slowly lose grip of our own identities. That identity being lost is the identity that was given to us through Him. All because we don't know how to unbrainwash ourselves from the "social norm" that is being coached to us. "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is good and acceptable and perfect will of God." Romans 12:2. The simple truth is that we are NOT of this world and we are NOT just a label that the world is going to tattoo on our foreheads, but that we are so much more than that. If we have put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world has given us the best "label" there is to give us, and that is "SAVED". That is a PROMISE out of the wrath of hell, and that is a RELATIONSHIP that has been formed. The one who knows all and sees all has accepted our friend request, and He has accepted it with overwhelming joy! Now, all we need to do is forget the label that the world is going to give us, and think about the label that Jesus has given us, because when it all comes down to it that's the only label that matters.
