We Wait for our KING!
I once saw a video that had said "many people will LIVE for Jesus? But would they DIE for Him?" Ever since that video I have not been able to get it out of my head. There have been treats and killings against Christians, and many of us are blessed enough to say that we live in a free country. One where I can post this blog freely and not have to worry about my life being at risk. But, sadly, that isn't the same for everyone, or everywhere. There are currently over 100 Christians that have been beheaded in Syria for speaking HIS NAME. That breaks my heart. Yet, many of us are afraid to post a status that speaks of someone who gave HIS life for us. I'm not saying everyone needs to hop on the first plane to Syria, but we should be here freely speaking His name to all those who do not believe. To all those who may not have even heard, and to all those who may not understand. "How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:
'How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,
Who bring glad tidings of good things!'" Romans 10:14-15. We should be here, as believers, telling non-believers about our King! Unashamed. This world is coming to a crashing halt, and we should be using this time to speak of His Name. We should not be pulling the blindfold of this world over our eyes, hoping that no one will ask us about God. And deciding that if they agree with us then we believe and if they don't agree with us then we don't believe. "Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven." Matthew 10:32-33. If that doesn't scare you, then I don't know what will. Think of it this way. You get caught for shoplifting (or something) and you get taken into custody, and they tell you that if your parents do not bail you out that you will spend the next month there. Naturally, you have been disrespectful and mean to your parents. Nonetheless you pick up the phone and tell them to come down to the police station immediately. When they get there the officer asks them "Is this your child", they take one look at you and look back at the cop and say "No, I never knew them". I'm sure that would be heartbreaking. Now, imagine that from our King in heaven. Take all that pain that you just imagined and multiply that by 100, because that doesn't mean a month in jail. That means an ETERNITY in hell. And believe it or not, an eternity in hell is far worse than the 5 minutes it would take for you to acknowledge Him. Not, only should we be acknowledging Him through our words, we should be acknowledging Him through our actions. We need to SHOW non-believers the difference that Jesus makes in our lives. This is a small token of a huge picture, and that picture does include Jesus coming back. The question is were we ready?
Even so Come - Passion
1 John 2:15-17
"Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him, because all that is in the world (the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the arrogance produced by material possessions) is not from the Father, but is from the world. And the world is passing away with all its desires, but the person who does the will of God remains forever."
